Exclusive Homes PDF exporter (June 2004)
Description
This is a desktop .NET application, exporting PDF pages for a property magazine that Johnston Press used to produce.

Technical
The system used an XML data feed from the PCS PropertyNet system (used to manage estate agent propety data for the paper and internet). It then created PDF pages from scratch using a .NET component. The source images arrived in either EPS, TIF or JPG format and these were automatically resampled to 300dpi CYMK tifs using ImageMagick. Although the system was very quick to assemble the PDF files, the slow part was getting 20Gb of data across the network from Eastbourne and Horsham to Portsmouth!
